Equilibrium is a play on the term ‘market equilibrium,’ the state of balance maintained by flows of supply and demand.

However, business as usual comes with the cost of comorbid environmental and health consequences. As demonstrated by the COVID-19 pandemic, “the competing field of medicine actively suppressed public health, which threatened the financial model of treating illness in [insured] individuals.”(Yong, E., 2021) This piece calls for broader society to reflect on the policies and market choices by government and enterprises so as not to continue perpetuating structural and health inequalities.
